Haven't been to the BVI's in about 6 years, so I haven't been frequenting TTOL either so forgive me if this has been addressed recently. I have a couple questions..
1. What is the general feeling of crime on Tortola now. Is it generally safe as long as you avoid isolated places late at night, etc and use common sense?
2. Need villa recommendations for a 5BR villa..
3. Are there any areas of Tortola to avoid when renting a villa for safety reasons?
Thanks in advance for any help..Mal?? You still here?

1. Answer is yes generally safe just like any other area. Just use common sense.

2. VRBO is also a great spource as you can search by number of bedrooms.

3. Don't know.

We stayed at Sunset house, it was beautiful with a fabulous view. Carmen, the manager is a sweetheart. It sits between Apple Bay and Long Bay, easy driveway to navigate. Very nice area. Check it out here:

If I recall, Toni Kellman who posts here and her family stayed at Sunset House and we had drinks with them there a few years ago. Very nice villa and beautiful view.

Thanks everyone..
Colleen:
1. Is there a nice view from the pool? Hard to tell from pics.
2. Looks like a house sits right above it. Any noise or privacy issues?
3. Would 5 couples feel their accomodations are comparable to each others?
Looks like a great option. Thanks for the info..

See answers above. Carmen is there every morning with fresh fruits and homeade breads, coffee going when you get up. Really nice. We had her cook a meal for us, she does all the shopping, cooking, serving and clean up. You only pay for the food, she actually gives you the receipt from the store to pay. Of course we tipped her nicely. The food was outstanding.
