As far as I can figure out, St Maarten doesn't have the "Caribbean" music other islands have!

There is live music almost every night in many different locations. The two that I'm familiar with are the Red Piano, notably Church (the name of the band) on Mondays, and Ronny Santana (one of the members of Church) and his protege Amin, at Buccaneer Beach Bar on Saturdays. Pineapple Pete used to have live music every night, but I haven't been there in a while, so can't be sure that's still the case. Dreams on Nettle Bay often has live music on Sundays.
