Finally saw the price come down on UA from EWR for May and booked. We gave up our PDP timeshare and our Pelican many many years ago. This past year we stayed at Sonesta Maho which we got for a really great price and had a wonderful time! After many years of staying at the same TS; it felt like we were on a different vacation. Just can't explain it but even with the negatives (food, service) at Maho it was one of our best St Maarten vacations yet. For next year I found a good deal at Simpson Bay Villas, which is ironic because one of the TS's we gave back was Pelican back in the early 90's, so this will definitely be somewhat deja vu. I looked at booking other destinations for our 40th anniversary (Aruba, Curacao) but came back to SXM. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/circle.gif" alt="" /> Started the countdown clock already.

We may still try to get there. The problem was there are no non-stop flights from Newark, only JFK with JetBlue. My husband hates flying to begin with, so we always go for non-stop flights.

When Continental flew to Curacao, they had non-stop every Saturday. Try to get there now from EWR, United has a flight with 3 stops (Dominican Republic, Columbia to Panama) 24 hours of flying. United has ruined flying to anywhere in the Caribbean (from EWR).

That's a real great price for airfare to Curacao. Try to go there some day, I think you may like it.
