AA flight scheduled arrival is 2:54 p.m. Ferry from Charlette Amalie to Virgin Gorda departs 4:00 p.m. Can we make it?

Thanks for your advise.

Kevin will definitely make it possible, providing the flight lands on time.

been there, done that. If everything is somewhat on time...no worries. Send Kevin your business, he will have your back if you need a plan B,C or in some cases the dreaded plan "D".

The one that is DICEY is the Spirit flight from Ft. Lauderdale. Plan D is the norm it seems.

Which ferry are you taking? I'm guessing that the BVI ferry schedule web page needs updating as the only ferry posted that run's direct to VG is Speedy's on Tuesday and Thursday at 5 o'clock. If a 4 o'clock has been added that I don't know about, call Kevin the go to cab man. He will get you there on time and has been know to have the ferry wait for him to get folk's to the ferry dock. If worse comes to worse you, alas poor soul, are stuck in the Virgin Islands while I'm stuck here wishing I were anywhere down there. Don't worry, have fun...

Oh boy. I'm on that Spirit flight in December. What exactly is Plan "D" and how much is it going to cost my party of 6 to get to Tortola?

Our Plan D for Spirit is booking the late flight AA from MIA with no help or reimbursement from Spirit. We'll fly Spirit if we can afford to be a day or two late.

We have had very goof luck with Spirit, always on time and never missed a ferry. We like the return flight to FLL because it is so late in the day. We always pop for the Big Front Seat

We've only done the islands twice - the last time was ATL to SJU to Tortola, and it was a very long tiring expensive trip.

Our 2016 plan is not rush or worry about the ferry connections from STT to the BVI. We are planning a day in STT before the ferry over, and day in STT before we leave to allow us time for the ferry over.

I distrust the airlines' abilities to give a flying fig about our connection needs.

Since you live here in the Atl area you don't need connecting flights. You can take the first Delta from Hartsfield and, if no delays/weather, land in STT around 1:15. We did in July and Kevin got us to the ferry dock for the 2:30 ferry on Native Son to West End then RT. We did stay on STT the last night just so we weren't at the mercy of the ferry's to make those kind of connections on the day we would be flying out.

Yeah, Rick - for us that is an option depending on final destination and which ferry we need to take. Tortola isn't our destination next year wink

Ours wasn't either. We actually did the Native Son at 2:30 to RT then took Speedy's at 4:30 to Spanishtown arriving at 5PM. The direct Speedy's from CA to VG didn't even leave untuil 5PM so we got to our villa about 2 hours quicker!
