Shout out to the TMM crew.
We recently returned from our 5th charter in the beautiful BVI, four times with TMM and once with a charter company beginning with a "C" in STT.
While the boat had a few design quirks, because we believe the manufacturer hasn't had much experience in the charter fleet, we had a wonderful time.
It started with the boat being well prepared by the TMM crew for our sleep aboard. Tim was thorough in conducting an efficient briefing and checkout. One of our younger crew members regretted that Tim wasn't our captain for the 10 days. Jerome sailed with us to Scrub and we admired his ability to "let us do it" while being prepared to jump in if necessary. The office crew were efficient as usual and upon our return, Sandra found my cellphone still charging on the chart table, called us and mailed it to me. Joyce was there to great us at the end of our charter but her hands were obvious in the yacht preparation. Until next time - Thanks TMM!

We have used TMM many times both in the BVI and Belize. We have always been very happy with the staff and the equipment. Glad you had the same experience.

tjkunes, were you generally happy with the boat, despite the design quirks? If so, feel free to share any thoughts you had on the boat, many of us like to hear reviews on specific boats as well. If you care to share more, also explain the size and makeup of your crew. Thanks for sharing your experience!

All things considered, we enjoyed our time aboard Lucy 2. Our group consisted of a monohull sailor and his wife, their daughter and girl friend in their early 20s, another couple and, my wife and I long time power boaters.
Please keep in mind that I believe that this is the first model the manufacturer has built for charter.
If I were considering chartering Lucy2, I would appreciate knowing;
a) It holds 140 gallons of fresh water and that the heads use fresh water.
b) Bow cleats are not conveniently located to secure mooring bridle and the bow pulpit (for a non-existent spinnaker) gets in the way of installing the mooring bridle.
c) To install the anchor snubber you probably need to use the dingy and go under the trampoline.
d) Stern cleat not convenient to secure dingy while loading/unloading. No hand rails on stern steps.
Positives;
GREAT refrigeration/freezers, mattresses and, sound system including XM radio.

Thanks, seems like some good critiques for people to be aware of, nothing that would ruin a trip or even necessarily get one to choose a different boat, but little annoyances that I could see might be bothersome. First time I've heard of a boat using fresh water to flush the heads, wonder why that is?

Lucy does look like a boat designed more for her sailing characteristics than chartering convenience. Maybe no hand rails, but those wide stern scoops look pretty sweet. The helm station looks quite comfy and well laid out for easy single handed sailing as well.

I've also never chartered a boat with XM, now that would be AWESOME!! Especially if on charter during football season!

All in all, looks like a really sweet boat, they all have pluses and minuses, thanks for sharing your take.

Fresh water in the head smells better. Not a good move for a charter boat in my opinion though. Unless it has a water maker.

As a 20 plus year charterer I can say with confidence that TMM excels.
They are professional and flexible. They tailor their checkout to each Captain's skill set. Their boats are extremely well maintained. They manage to do this with a great smile. Would never go anywhere else. The only criticism I have is Sam's shoes.

Another TMM fan here. From the day you reserve your charter to the day you end your trip, everything is top notch!

On our post charter briefing, I remember asking the TMM guy (middle aged British accent) how to keep the heads smelling better on a week long trip. I chartered three times from TMM. Liked it so much, I bought a boat from them and put it charter! Obviously, so did about 40 others currently.

That's funny...when we went on our sailing school trip back in 2008, our captain/instructor made it a point to try to anchor or moor anywhere that had shore facilities - I got completely paranoid about using the head. And we had one fellow student who was on the trip just because he really liked to sail and his wife did not, so it was the only way for him to afford a sailing vacation in the BVI -- he would commandeer the dinghy before the rest of us were sometimes awake and we'd sit around post-coffee staring anxiously towards shore, awaiting the dinghy's return <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Laugh.gif" alt="" />

Ha ha! Every morning on our trip my son would announce "Making a dinghy run! If you have to poop get in!"

I have chartered with TMM twice and will be back again in January 2016. GREAT people, easy to deal with and we always enjoy the experience.
