Trip Report – November 10 – November 15, 2007
Very boring report, as November is a low key trip for us, no kids, parents, nothing exciting going on, just 5 days to veg out!
Air – Flew non-stop JFK – SXM, perfect as always, upgraded to Business Class using Advantage miles, it was nice having the extra room. Those that fly out of JFK, we used Long Term Parking for the first in ages, the Air Train is great, will definitely use it again in April.
Car Rental – Leslie Bruce – Kenny’s Car Rental, perfect as always
Met up with Sharon Harris at her New Store, very nice, right in the front of Royal Palm, she had helped me a few months before fixing my telephone, so I owed her a “chippie”. Wish we had had more time to chat ! Maybe April!
Groceries were purchased at Food Express at Maho, very convenient and they had everything necessary for a few days.
Accommodations – Towers at Mullet Bay, usually when we do our fall trip without the kids, we just rented a room per night. But I stumbled upon a resale for a 1 bedroom week 45, we purchased it for $700.00!!! It is on the 7th floor, very, very nice. The maintenance fees are less than what we paid as a renter!
Beaches – Well, we don’t venture far, Orient is not our cup of tea, and if I wanted to hit those beaches, I would stay over there. We spent our days split between Mullet and Rouge, both within a few minutes of the Towers. No traffic at all. Mullet we would just walk across to, and Rouge takes 8 minutes flat!
Meals – breakfast was always had in the room on the porch, we would order pastries the night before at the front desk and would pick them up around 8:00 fresh off the truck!
We only went out for Lunch once to Pineapple Pete’s, it was very good, other lunches were spent at Rosie’s and on Rouge.
Dinners - Rare, LaGondola, Pizza Pasta, Paris Bistro and Bajatzu, all meals were great, no complaints. As you see, we don’t venture far.
Met up with Barbara, Annie and her son Jim at Buccaneer Beach Bar. Had a great time.
