Got to the ferry terminal in CA yesterday, checked our 3 bags for $3 each and proceeded down to the waiting area and stopped at "security". Security guard saw I was rolling the small carryon bag and I mean small. Told me that if it's "carryon" then I have to carry it! CAN'T roll it. Absolutely amazing.

BTW, sitting here on VG made scrambled eggs, BACON, and a rum and coke. It's VACATION! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" />

Aren't people amazing?? I called Time Warner Monday night and said that because their techs didn't bury the cable during a recent service call, the guys that were mowing my lawn ran over the line and cut about 3 foot of cable out and I have no internet....the Time Warner response "Has this had a negative impact on your service?" <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" /> Can't roll a small carry-on....OMG....crazy!! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" />

It is universal. TSA will go to the effort to unroll an almost empty tube of toothpaste to show you it was once more than 3oz. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" />

The one I love is the armed pilot having his nail clippers taken away in the early days of the program. I had a tiny pair of scissors taken away and I mentioned that in 2 minutes I would be in the cockpit with a big crash ax at my disposal. He still took my scissors.

I think you should have said, no worries, that when the time comes, you'll carry it on, but until then you'll keep rolling it..

Anything said except "yes sir" would have meant we would not have been on that ferry.

Rick--I have to say that your experience should be reported to the BVI Tourist Board--not that they necessarily would give a ratsa$$, I suppose.

So really he meant give us $3 more dollars or carry the bag just because! I think that was the same guy that yelled at my 5 year old for sitting on the bar stole next to me while I purchased a beer. I said she is fine right here.. and doesn't seem like a law anyway. He then started to argue with one of the Native Son guys before he pissed off..
