Just wondering if the hills and mountains around the island have names, ie: the hill between Simpson Bay and Phillipsburg on Brouwer Rd., the hill behind the theatre, etc. Name as many as you can and give locations.

The hill on the left as you are going up on Brouwer Road is Cole Bay Hill and the one on the right when you are going down is Cay Bay Hill. Get the map of the island by Michal Kasprowski. It has the names of just about all of them.

Ditto about Michal Kasprowski's map - it's available at gift shops at the airport, as well as at other shops around the island. It's very detailed, with roads/names, villages, beaches, mountains/hills (with names), as well as topographic contours and heights of the various peaks, and water depth around the island.

For years we have stayed in a villa on the hill above Orient Bay. We just called it THE HILL. Couldn't think of a better name and no one could ever tell us different.

There's an on-line map with LOTS of hill/mountain names here.

You should be able to click it to enlarge.

If you prefer paper maps there's a French topographical map of St Martin/St Maarten and St Barth which shows the hill names. The scale is 1:25000, or 1cm = 250m.
