Thanks to all for their superb recommendations. We returned home last Friday night after 9 days on SXM. Royal Palm was enjoyable. Only bad experience on the we had on the entire trip was while having dinner at Toppers by the Sea @ the Flamingo. Food was sub-par, service was horrific, manager couldn't be bothered. The food runner spilled 2 cups of iced tea on our son while attempting to put his dinner plate on the table. Barely an apology, and then it took several minutes to get napkins to clean up the mess. His clothes were drenched, as was the chair and seat cushion. Unfortunately, that was our last dinner of the trip! Had a nice time on the Lambada sunset cruise. Grand Case (Capt French's and Rainbow) Simpson Bay and Le Gallion beaches were lovely. Mark's was good, SkipJacks and Lee's were yummy, Pizza Galley was perfect for an easy/casual meal and Bajatzu was excellent. Minimal rain/passing showers for the 1st 48 hours, sunsets were non-existent though...very hazy. Good times, we look forward to a return trip.

Glad you enjoyed your first trip! We just returned home from 10 days on island and it remains very hazy. Though the island needs it badly, just had some rain on Monday, although I doubt it was much of an accumulation of rain.

Thanks, it was nice. Where did you stay? The haziness was strange....living on the beach in FL, we are used to amazing sunsets, so it was a little bit of a let down, but not like we don't see them every day here! We had rain at the beginning of our trip for the 1st 2 days- 6/11 and 6/12, but it didn't last more than 30-60 mins at a time and then cleared right up. Rained overnight 1 night during that time as well.
