Apologize if it has been posted but did not see it on first page but Biras Creek is closing immediately. Sounds like a p contest between David Johnson of Victor international who leased Biras creek before developing Oil Nut Bay and the Mega Yacht Harbor in North sound. Sounds like lease was up next year and he and owner could not agree on purchase or lease terms. Terrible for 70 some employees and aggravating to make the precipitous decision inconveniencing tourists booked this summer. Story in BVI platinum. Again sorry if this is old news.

I think of it in another way, the folks are paid for a full 2 months for doing nothing , then paid holiday pay. They also get full severance package and some have worked for over 20 years, they would be hard pressed to find another comapny so generous in the BVI. But that isn't the plus, the plus is the actual owner will probably reopen and employ the old staff who no longer have 20 years service which is a hindrance for any new employer as the old timers can relax enjoy a few more years of service and leave happy without any complications that happen so often in the BVI with long term staff, this is a Win Win they just don't know it yet.

Whooboy, what a goofy, sad, political clusterf$%&*!

The owner of Biras leased to David Johnson and Victor for ten years. (And what arrogance of Victor to present themselves as owners!) They're currently in their 9th year.

Victor wants Biras for one reason - the land bridge to Oil Nut Bay. Many say that Johnson is a very rich bully. Having failed to force Biras' owner into selling, Victor is going to shut down Biras, and destroy the resort for future bookings.

As far as YCCS, it was developed by, and is owned by the Aga Khan, who has no love lost for Victor International or David Johnson. Although they had a brief romance, His Highness, the Aga Khan, basically told Johnson to f himself.

He may have stolen the ONB land, and obtained the permits to destroy the seabed for his 'beach', but Johnson has yet to bully Bert Houwer (whom I think is the current owner of Biras), or the Aga Khan (the current owner of YCCS) into submission for his precious mega-yacht marina and land bridge.

But the whole situation can change in an instant if Smith gets further on board with Victor.

How rich must Pickering and Smith become before enough is enough? Dunno.

As far as the horses...I suspect that they will be moved to ONB. Apparently the wife has a sincere interest in rescuing Paso Finos. At least there's some good here, I think.

So very sad. I desperately miss the old days in the BVI.
