Sticking with EWJ...

Currently, United accounts for 4.6 percent of passengers at Kennedy, the least among major airlines there, according to the U.S. Transportation Department. It has the largest presence at Newark, with 48 percent

The news report I saw said that United is increasing their presence at Newark. For the full story see United_JFK

No impacts since United already services SXM from EWR.

I think the impact will for those who do not live in the Northeast which will take the form of increased connections at EWR.

It was inevitable. There was no reason for them to keep flying from LAX / SFO to both JFK and EWR when EWR is their hub.

EWR is the better airport for accessibility in Manhattan and west.

Before the United merger with Contoninental, there were direct flights from EWR to SXM on weekends even during slow season (September and October) by Continental. United no longer has any direct flights to SXM during those two months. After over twenty years of flying to SXM in September with direct flights by Continental we now have to go to JFK for a direct flight. I would like to see Southwest start up a EWR to SXM flight.

We had timeshare from Friday to Friday and UA stopped Friday flights this year and that was in May.
