The owner of Biras is also the developer of Oil Nut Bay.

Weird, in the letter, David Johnson states that he's not the owner.

10 year lease. Owner does not want to sell. Lessee shuts down the operation. I suspect the owner will start up again in the fall. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" />
Remember, the owner would not allow David to build a road across Biras Creek to connect Oil Nut Bay, YCCS and other facilities.
David also wanted to change the resort and asked older guests not to come back. He wanted younger 1% guests to sell lots at Oil Nut Bay.

We walked to Biras from BEYC about 3 weeks ago. Had nice drinks with very good service at the bar and played chess at the beach. We stopped at the Fat Virgin on the way back, but were completely ignored by the staff. We eventually just got up and left. No, it wasnt busy... With a party of five, we would have probably spent upwards of $100 easily. Service at Leverick and BEYC was excellent, btw.

David leased Biras Creek from the owner for 10 years. He could not make a go of it. He wanted only young 1% guests. Told the older guests not to come back. Owner would not sell to him so he is out.

The owner of Biras Creek has money and could rebuild it and open it in the fall. I suspect that is what will happen.
