OK I know this has been posted before but just looking to see if anybody can help me. We are heading to the island on Feb 6-13 and right now Jet Blue block is only till Feb 10. Every year we book the day they open the block so my question is when or how often does Jet Blue open the next block of months???

I would book the one way now and deal with the other half when it is available. We have done that 'tweener many times
I should also add that you now have the BOS non-stops on both Saturday AND Sunday this year

They typically open it up in week 2 or week 3 of July. However, rumors are they might release it near the end of June. When they do, they are expected to roll their new fare classes where the cheapest fares no longer include first bag free.

We've been tracking Jet Blue schedule extensions for years. The biggest thing we've noticed is that each extension seems to bring them closer to being 350 days into the future, like other carriers. That's a big deal...

I just read that JB will open their schedule on July 8...through May 16. Don't know if it's FACT.

Exact verbiage on their site: " We'll extend our schedule again on July 8th at 9 a.m. EST.... Then you'll be able to book through May 3, 2016. We are currently selling seats through February 10, 2016. Thanks for reaching out"

I will repeat that it is probably in your best interest to book the one way now before the new fee structure is in place...just sayin'

Rates are high for one way on JB. I know -- I've been watching them for close to 2 months without much fluctuation at all. We booked outbound only because inbound was not available at the time.

The "one way rate" may be high but it is no different than when it is bought as part of a R/T...and...if one waits until the new fare structure is in place then things might get a bit dicey...
I would almost guarantee that the presently available leg will not decrease in price when both legs are eventually available..but...your choice
Our January SXM trip is usually right between JB availability dates so we are well versed in the one way thing. This year is a first as we were able to book both legs at the same time AND ...both legs are N/S which is a first
The days of R/T fares being lower than two one way fares are gone....(well....unless you are traveling to Europe )

The inbound rate is twice as much as what we paid for the outbound so as a roundtrip it's significantly higher than what we have paid before. The roundtrip offerings for our timeframe recently have been very reasonable BUT we only need a one way so the roundtrip better fare does us no good. I will continue to monitor and hope that the inbound rate comes down. If it does not we will book accordingly.

And the SXM leg to 'home' will always be a little higher because of the additional St Maarten departure fees, or such has been our experience.
Respectfully,

That's for the information and I will mark it down on my calendar. I am going to hold out for the R/T since the direct on Feb 6 is pretty high right now.
