According to a Caribbean news blog I follow....Alegria Resort has taken on Choice Resorts as a marketing overlay...

It's in the Daily Herald today. Said there was a press release to that effect on Monday. And someone posted it here the other day. It's supposedly part of the Ascend Hotel Collection brand, which I never heard of. Choice Hotels of course is familiar though. Travelocity, etc., lists it now as an Ascend Hotel.

I guess they call it an Ascend Hotel because once you hit rock bottom, you can do nothing but ascend from there...
