I think I read a post here that lobster is not available in June? Is this some kind of fishing law?

I must disagree. I admit that I am in the minority but I prefer Caribbean lobster to Maine lobster. To each his/her own.

Jag,
I hope you weren't referring to a comment I made not that long ago about our disappointment at the inavailability of lobsters we experienced at a place where we had previously enjoyed them. The problem was it was into low season and since they don't do a big lobster lunch or dinner trade, they were discontinuing them temporarily from their menu until the high season picked up again. It had nothing to do with a "lobster season" or the availability of lobsters across the island, but merely their policy towards stocking them on their menu at this time.
Respectfully,
pat

No worries Pat. I don't think it was your comment, I could have sworn there was a discussion about this but I could be wrong. I have heard that on some islands of the Carribean (Jamaica for example) that there is a month where it is illegal to catch lobsters, I'm very happy to hear that this is not the case on St Maarten.
While I do prefer Maine lobster, I'm also a fan of the Carribean variety too. My friends and I are seafood lovers so we are definitely looking forward to lots of fresh fish.
