Hi.

We have done night dives at mountain point and Kelly's cove on Norman island. We don't use the national park or dive site mooring balls.

I am looking for additional sites suitable for night dives directly from our sailboat.

Hopefully there are enough of us here to have a good discussion on the subject.

Anglefish reef is easy from the dinghy especially if you grab a overnight ball west of the caves. Benures Bay can be good right from the boat. Several dives are available from the dinghy at Cooper. Painted Canyons can be done from the dinghy if anchored in Deadmans bay. The small wall by Marina Key is a good night dive but lots of traffic. You can dive right from the boat in Lee Bay.
The Rhone is far and away the best night dive. If it's a nice night with a moon I would be comfortable using the dinghy from Cooper or you can anchor off Salt.

Ive done Wreck Alley at night, but from a dingy, and its more weather dependent. Easy down and up as long as you trust your compass, boats in a fairly straight line. Or even easier and safer is Cistern Point, a short dingy ride from the mooring field on Cooper.

I have also done cistern point. I like the idea of the Rhone. That sounds interesting at night, especially if vis is good

I did the Rhone one night with guests and the current was extremely strong, it was a near disaster.

Rhone is difficult with current. But sometimes ideal

But don't go alone. Things happen and it would be a real bummer to get caught on something down there and run out of air.

Just sayin'.

Thanks. I am in the never dive alone camp. I don't even need to say especially at night
