Ok I made up the part about Free Beer but figured nobody wanted to see another "ferry question" smile

Last year we let the Moorings take care of our ferry & taxi reservations and this year it is my turn to plan our trip.
I was told for the six of us that I could have the Moorings book the ferry/taxi for $100 per person roundtrip. First week of June we land in St. Thomas at 1:40 (we hope) and I have already contacted Kevin (Thank y'all for the tip on him). I'm not sure if landing at that time makes a difference on if we should leave from C.A. or Red Hook for the fastest departure? Guess the question is would y'all just take the easy route and let them handle our reservations or should I book the ferry and grab a taxi when we arrive in road town.

Thanks a bunch!

Kevin will know precisely which ferries are running, whether they are on time, and based on your arrival whether you can make the earlier RTTF out of CA, the next ferry out of Red Hook or the later RTTF out of CA. Therefore, don't buy your ferry tickets in advance, because you won't know which ferry you will be taking. You can count on Kevin to get you to Road Town in the shortest possible time. We expect to follow this plan on May 29 for Delta's 1:40 pm arrival out of ATL. It worked great last June.

Hi

Its good to know that someone was able to get in touch with Kevin - in our case not so much. We e-mailed him at kevintaxi101@yahoo.com on the 13th and have yet to get a reply. Unfortunately, we are dinosaurs who dont have a cell phone, so I guess we are stuck with the guys with the vans. Anyways, its wheels up next Tuesday the 19th, getting into St. Thomas at 2:45 on American. Hopefully, well be able to get to the 3:30 Smiths or the 4:15 RTFF. Weve got to get to the ITGO office in Road Town for a vehicle before Ethlyn closes up shop at 5:00.

Peace
Dugg & Chris

At the Roadtown end it's more convenient to get your own taxi. Otherwise you have to wait for everyone else who might be taking the Moorings bus. I guess this is not a problem if you happen to be the last people to exit the terminal.

If you arrange your own ferry ride, when you arrive in Roadtown someone from the Moorings will still encourage you to board their bus. Be aware that this is not free -- I believe they charge about as much as any taxi. So I'd rather just take a taxi.

The same applies when leaving the Moorings base. They'll offer to get you ride to the ferry, but that means waiting for their driver. I think you're better off if you have other options.

Dugg, you could call Kevin at 340-643-0025. Your land line should reach his cell. You could always leave a message( if he doesn't pick up) that you don't have the ability to text him.

I just talked to Kevin and told him to check his email since he's been having Internet problems. However, if you don't have a cell phone, how do you plan on letting him know if your flight is delayed? He's wasted a lot of time on people who simply don't show and don't have the courtesy to let him know.

As another option on STT I would consider using Stanley from Love Cab. He provides the same outstanding service as Kevin. 340 775 5951.
On Tortola Frank Ferrol is also a good name to keep in your hip pocket. 284 543 1114
Both are simply great and can be a big help with lost bags and other issues that come up.
