Carol and I made perhaps our 15th or 16 visit to our favorite destination. Over the course of our visit I have written a series of stories, close to 30 I think, and have started to post them yesterday to my blog on a daily basis with a few other local stories added that I need to add because of the dated content of the story. Stories about new people I have met during our visit as well as a story showing you Barbara and Dee's lovely garden at their home and a visit with Norm and Betty at the villa rental that he won on Jeff's Everything St. Maarten's board are a few. Most stories have photos to illustrate the story and for some it would be really tough to transfer all to TTOL. Click on the link below and follow along on our trip back to the island. Any comments can be postured on this thread. In short, we had the best weather we have ever experienced with one short storm on a beach day that lasted maybe 10 minutes. The island is very dry and parched, and they need rain badly, but lucky for us they didn't get it while we were there.

Great to see you and Carol again Larry. Glad we could share our good fortune with you, even if it was a hazy photo night. And just s a note to your blog story, Jeff(Berger) selected my name from a group of alternate winners. See you next year, if I get lucky.

Thanks for the post and the blog pixx. I just CAN'T wrap my head around these new "boxes" as you called them!!!! The flavor of Orient beach is the unique-ness of each one!! One of our go to places Cheryl and Andy's with all that it is/was might not ever be??? Yes the passing of Andy was hard felt. I was at his wake, talk about getting kicked in the gut!!! I travel a lot on business, and don't want that sterile restaurant feel!!! I don't want to have to dine in a "box"! I want to dine in what I call someone's home. That's what the little dinning places felt like to me.

Thanks Carol. I have about a dozen more which I wrote while sitting on the balcony at Caribbean Princess A-2 in the evenings after we came back from the beach each day.

For Colour1 - I always enjoyed Pete Seeger's "Little Boxes" and always though of the row of restaurants with their colors when I listened to the song. That's where I got the "little boxes" idea for my story. I agree, they certainly are anything but "look alike boxes."

How did you like Caribbean Princess? Or, is that in one of your stories, yet to be published??
