We will be chartering from Sunday, May 17 - 25. The plan as of now is to make it to Leverick on the 19th and rent a car the 20th to go to the baths. However, i am noticing that the ferry schedule shows a cruise ship arriving on the 20th http://bviports.org/?cruiseship . Is this something to be worried about? Or will the cruise passengers not make it to the Baths until the 21st? Thanks in advance for you input!

Cruise ship passengers would most likely be there on the 20th - however, if you plan your visit for either early morning or sometime after 2pm, you should miss them....

The cruise ships don't stay overnight they leave the dock at around 4PM. They do take day trips to various spots like the Baths. One of the guys I work with did it a couple of weeks ago. He arrived on a cruise ship and took a tour to the Baths stayed a couple of hours and left again. So the arrive early morning or late afternoon is good advice to miss the tourist crowds. But than again what are we??

We were on V.G. For 10 days . The cruise ship crowd came on Tuesdays starting about 10. We left on a Tuesday, our ferry left at 245 and we made a stop in road town to drop off some cruisers. The other ferry went right to the ship. I would wait until after 3 to go. We usual go about 730 walk down the path to Devils bay either walk thru or snorkel around. We see lots of fish that time of day., the fish are feeding then. Ellen

I would say even without any cruise ships you still want to go early or late. The day boats from USVI come every day. Obviously that's a lot less people than a cruise ship, but net is, you don't want to be going through the baths in a line of 30 people. Guaranteed, one of them is going to have a problem climbing some obstacle and you'll have to wait, or someone from your group will have a problem and not appreciate having all those people bottled up behind them while they plan their next step. It's just best appreciated with few people around.
