YIPPEE, no, really, I'm excited. Since I live in Europe part of the time, I know this store...Daily Herald says it's coming to #53 Union Road/anyone know where that might be???

It's a decent French Supermarket. We have gone there many times when in France..It has smaller stores in addition to the "Super" type

According to Google maps, it's not far from the Grand Marche. I tried to paste a link here, but can't remember how to do that with my tablet.

According to the article in today's paper, it is coming to SXM through the Grand Marche group. The location is where the Cole Bay Grand Marche is now. I checked the address.

I wonder if they are replacing the current building or using the same one. 30,000 sq.ft. sounds a bit big but no clue how large the present one is

The current building could be in that range, the total footprint would include the storage area also, not just the shopping area. For easy numbers 150x200 for the total footprint would be the 30,000. I am thinking that building is bigger than we think it is.

Daily Herald story Not sure how long the transition will take, but the story says that the Cole Bay location will 'become' the new store, so it sound like to me the same physical building, for sure.

I was a Carrefour regular during the three years we lived in France. This should be a good addition to the island in terms of value and selection.

I saw a whole lot of French honchos taking pictures and making measurements in there on Monday. They are getting ready.
My only hope is that they continue to get the American products as well as the French and Dutch ones. That and a butcher window.
Those are the things I asked the owner for last year at a party for yacht chefs.
Bon Chance!

I hope this is true ... I love Carrefour in France. We actually had one for a few years close to where I live in NJ --- but it's been history for a while, unfortunately.

I think it definitely is coming, just a question of how long.
