Returned today from 11 days in Paradise. We rent a villa on the French side inside Orient Beach Park. We had 11 days of sunshine. Not a drop of rain although I do like to hear it on the roof at night. We ate at Ocean 82, Le Tastevin, twice at Sunset Cafe, all in Grand Case. We ate a Table D'antoine, La Voile Blanche, Le Piment, Little Italie and the That place in Orient Village. We had breakfast at Chery's a few morning and had a few lunches there. No one beats the Buffalo Margarita Shrimp. We had a few lunches at Kakao, great food, presentation and our wonderful server, Jeremy. Loved a three hour lunch with 6 others at Sun Beach. Love the grouper at Orange Fever. Service again was excellent at Aloha. Natalie has done a fabulous job pulling the restaurant back together after Gonzalo. However, most of establishments in question for the new renovations on Orient aren't sure of what the future holds. They don't know what the new rents will be or what shape the restaurant will take. Some seem positive, others are concerned about the
future. However, we had a wonderful trip and can't wait until next April.

Twice at Sunset Cafe?
I'm not surprised. I think Sunset can sometimes be forgotten given its off Boulevard location and the competition in "downtown" Grand Case. However, it always seems to exceed our expectations, and the prices tend to run at about 2/3 of what you pay downtown.

thanks for the report. I don't blame the restaurant owners on Orient for being quite concerned, it will be a very stressful time for them, for sure. Hopefully the end result will be good for them and for the area.

My thoughts exactly. We loved it in another lifetime when it was called Waves Restaurant and we enjoyed it just as much last year when we stayed at GCBC. So much so, it was hard to tear ourselves away and enjoy the main drag restaurants with the big reputations. I guess it's all about what makes you happy and this restaurant suited us just fine, particularly at sunset at a waterside table with a cold glass of liquid refreshment in hand.

Respectfully,
