Looking for feedback from anyone who has chartered with MarineMax. 3 couples heading down May 15-22 on a 484 powercat and looking for feedback from anyone who has used them recently.

Have not chartered with them but did tour the 484. It's beautiful and modern!

My wife and I took a 382 with another couple earlier in April. It was our 2nd trip with Marinemax and we had a great time. There were a couple of glitches with the boat but they were very responsive and came out quickly to Diamond Cay to address them. The boats are starting to show their age but still were well suited to the islands. We don't have anything to fault marinemax for.

We just wrapped a trip this morning on a 484. Great trip. No issues with boat and great service as always. Pm me if you have any specific questions or concerns.

They are a somewhat new company run by a ex moorings management. Track record is short but have not heard anything bad.

We are down May 9-20, chartered a 48 powercat. Can't wait. a bit off topic...just booked taxi service to Hodges Creek from Beef Island airport...told us $25 for 2 each way. Is that in the ballpark? We have always chartered with VT out of Nanny Cay, so first time to HC.

We will also be on a 484 powercat through Marinemax May 17-25. Our plan is for a counterclockwise itinerary. Keep an eye out for the 484 with an LSU flag and a rowdy crew of 8.

This is our first time with a powercat, have previously chartered 56' from Virgin Traders. We are all pretty excited. We only have 6 rowdies! Do you have plans to join in the North Sound Dingy Pub Crawl on May 18? (see thread)All are welcome! We will be moored in Leverick Bay Sunday to Tuesday...leaving on the 20th frown
We will be flying Canadian flag, and possibly a cocktail flag also!! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />

I have heard of the pub crawl, but it is highly doubtful that we will be able to make it. We will be sleeping aboard May 17 and I am not sure if our crew will be up to making the haul to leverick on the first day. So we will probably stay at cooper on the 18th. However, we do have a slip reserved for the 19th at Leverick and will more most probably near Bitter End on the 20th. We will keep an eye out for you.

Sounds good...If we pass you on the way out of Leverick, we will wave! Have a great charter!

Thanks everyone for all the info. Arriving 5/15 with a crew of 6. Three going right to MarineMax Hodges Creek to start briefing and three going to grocery to pick up a few things. Do we need to book our taxi now?

It's never a bad idea to have your transport arranged. We arrive on the 9th and have booked with ACTAXI. They are a sponsor on the list. $25 one way per couple to HC. Not long now!!

Don't forget that Marine Max has an arrangement with Sebastian's for transportation. I think they meet every ferry and will also meet your flight at the airport.

Basically, they use them to take guests to and from the ferries and the airport. Prices are probably the same but all you have to do is let the MM office know when you are arriving and when you are leaving and they will have transportation ready.

I just used both of them last week, both top notch. Kevin was out of town, so he arranged for his father to pick us up. It was great to meet his father too.

We use Kevin all of the time. Does anyone have a phone number for Arnold (AC)? We would love to find someone that provides a comparable level of service on Tortola.

Marinemax was great. We just got back from a trip in late March on the 484. The Watermaker works great and so does the rest of the boat. The boat is very easy to navigate.
