Not much to add. Our days are pretty much the same--beach eat sleep! Yesterday was a gorgeous day at Mullet! I'm trying to spend a day out of the sun, but don't want to miss the wonderful water there. Decisions.... We met friends, once again, and also ran into Pat and John---about time!! We enjoyed spending time with them and had a fun conversation. We could have sat there all day talking! We are all from Connecticut, so we have that in common besides our love for SXM.
Last night we had dinner at Basilica. It was very good, but I enjoyed my husband's pasta more than my chicken. That was my fault for trying to eat light!! We didn't have room for dessert and had been looking forward to our pane cotta--next time.
We stopped and made a deposit at the Starz Casino, the old Atlantis. They just changed the name and will be having a grand opening next Saturday.
Time now to make a decision..I think we will start with a walk on the beach here at BSV. Make some room for more calories.
Thinking of our grandson who is turning 4 today. He is on our FB page, but I'm not set up for pictures here. We will celebrate when we return.

Terry,
We also very much enjoyed our Mullet meet-up yesterday and I'm sorry our BSV days won't coincide. haven't made our 'plan' for the day yet but probably not a beach day today.....errands to do and other stuff, too. Enjoy your day.

Went to breakfast at Atlantico. They have such good coffee and the Vegetable crepes are wonderful. We then went to the market in Marigot. It was very busy and very hot. We picked up a few things and left. Back to BSV to enjoy our own beach, but the water was pretty rough today.
We ate our leftovers from last night's dinner for a late lunch early dinner, They really give you large portions at Basilica. We may try our luck at Casino Royal tonight. Hopefully I can stay awake until they open their tables--or maybe it's best to stay in and sleep.

Our stop at Casino Royale turned out to be quick, until we left the tables and found the penny machines. We were able to play for awhile and I still had my $20. The girl at the table just took Our money too fast without even a smile . Yesterday we spent another day at Mullet eating at Rosie's . The waves were not bad until later in the day and then back to our Villa, where we had a swim in the pool and talked to people discussing all the changes in SXM. We all agreed on how great BSV is. They told us stories of people getting hurt swimming in the huge waves, which really makes me happy I am being so cautious.
For dinner we met friends at IZI and had a fantastic dinner. Ours was a special of Risotto with mushrooms and huge scallops---delicious. Our friends had chicken and veal dishes with pasta sides and were very happy. After coffee, dessert, and free after dinner drinks, of our choice, we headed back for the night.

We're trying to decide between MB and Mullett for the day. How are the seaweed and the waves by you this morning? Mullet looks like it might be calm, or at least we can't see any rollers yet from our porch. Such tough decisions........

I never really liked Casino Royale, as their table limits are too high. They definitely take MY money too fast!!
BSV is great, for sure! Enjoy your stay.

From what I got from the waitress the other night they may not get them In again until the next 'season' starts - too expensive and too few willing to pay the prices and those that are willing are sporadic so it becomes wasteful on their part I guess.
When John had his Thermidor at Antoines the other night I had a lobster cesare salad and it was NOT INEXPENSIVE, for sure.

Carol:
The spiny lobster has a protected spawning season throughout most of the Caribbean. Generally, one cannot harvest them during May & June. Some areas have an even longer protected season.

OK, I definitely remember hearing about a protected season on other islands, but I don't remember hearing about it on SXM before. Although somehow I thought several places serve US lobsters? Truthfully, I rarely order lobster on island though, so perhaps I have just not been paying attention.

The waves wreaked havoc at BSV last night. Tons of new seaweed and cliffs in the sand. Hopefully the beach will repair itself. I feel so sorry for the guys cleaning it up.
Had pastry and coffee at Serafina this morning and walked around Marigot. We headed back to BSV and spent the rest of the day till almost 6 PM on our friend's deck and the pool.
Off to Lagoonies for dinner---maybe

To be quite honest, I had forgotten about the lobster season and was referring to the high season with lots of guests ergo lots of eaters, but I think Jerry is correct about the spawning season, too.

Dinner at Lagoonies with friends--so much fun. The food was good, inexpensive and the entertainment was great! Hopefully another beach day tomorrow, Have to check out the waves. The water sounds calmer her at BSV right now.

Drive toward Phillipsburg, when you get to the curve where it becomes one-way stay to the left (Cole Bay). Turn left at the intersection then bear right, follow that road until you see the Lagoonies sign in front of you. Take a left into the driveway and go all the way to the back.
