Considering this resort, has anyone just been there? What was your opinion? We love to snorkel and would use the c/o beach daily.

Stayed there about 2 years ago, really enjoyed it. The snorkeling boat was pretty good. The c/o beach is OK, small and visible to people walking the beach.

We have stayed there a few times. It's one of our favorites. The beach (Bloody Bay) is beautiful. The nude beach does get some walk by, but in the late afternoon evening it's pretty quiet, and we loved watching the sunset from the large hot tub on the nude section. We didn't snorkel from the beach, but they used to take people snorkeling in a boat from the watersports cabana. Couples Negril is a great place.

Is there much to do/see outside the resort? How are the accommodations/dining? Thought I read somewhere that the rooms were undergoing renovations? Thank you all for your responses.

We did not go outside the resort. The meals in the restaurants were very good . The breakfast, lunch buffets were the usual that you find in an all inclusive.

You might want to go to the couples web site and check out the message board there.

"Is there much to do/see outside the resort?" Resort is located on Bloody Bay side of 7 Mile Beach. A short taxi ride to Cosmo's will start you on a 4 mile walk to "downtown" Negril. Along the way are numerous bars, restaurants and hotels. Also a million vendors. A "must see" for first time visitors is Rick's Café. Located on the cliffs on the south end of Negril, it's a tourist trap, but does an amazing business near sundown, when it provides a great view. There are also cliff divers that put on a show. If you can overcome sand gravity, there are other trips from a couple hours to all day that will allow you to see YS Falls, Pelican Bar, golf at Negril Hills golf course etc ets etc.

Is there a recommended agent/booking contact for this resort?

We have used Go Classy Tours for all our JA trips for years and years. They were able to get us a better price for Grand Lido Negril than we were able to find from anyone else. Check their prices and see how it comes out for you.

Thank you so much. We'll get in touch with them, are they sponsors?

Not sponsors any more, but we have personally used them for a long time. Tell them if you call that you heard about them on TTOL and encourage them to come back as sponsors! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

If you plan to do the complementary Sunset Catamaran Cruise sign up soon after you get to the resort. If you want to get off the beaten path consider doing the One Love Bus Bar Crawl. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Re...sh_Jamaica.html

We loved Couples Negril. We did 2 weeks and there was plenty to do. I dove every morning. The diving is nothing like eastern Caribbean islands. I would give it a 6, but it's free and fun. I tried the free golf one day, cost me almost $100. You must take a cart and a caddie, $$$. We loved all the restaurants. Smoothies and pasties were excellent.
