Not sure if it qualifies as 'the airport area', but Rosie's ribs at Mullet is not far from the airport and I love their ribs!

Not too far is Captain D's across from Lees between Toppers and the Royal Palm. It's a roadside BBQ with great ribs and chicken.

They are really good. Portions are huge. You get sides with it too.

Which sides have you had, that you enjoyed? Do you get choices or all plates get the same sides?

Captain Ds -We had the chicken and ribs this past January the portions were huge, the sides that day were rice and peas, salad and a spicy noodle which is very delicious .
We were staying at the Atrium so we took it back to our room to enjoy.

Captain D is a pilot with Winn Air and started this little spot a couple of years ago. It has really "taken off"! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

We sampled at Caribbean Grilled Flavours, beside the Yacht Club, excellent flavour, but too salty for our taste

Does Captain D offer anything beside ribs, such as chicken?

Yes, they have chicken $4 for a 1/4 chicken. I guess you could buy more. A combo of ribs and chicken is $12.

What about Sunset Beach Bar. I've always gotten good ribs from there.

You need to buy the ribs early in the day if you want sides. I got no sides when I purchased them at 6:30 PM. I was told sorry no sides

I think that must depend on how busy they are. I have gotten sides around dinner time before.

I thought the ribs at the Harbor Queen were very good. The baked beans were also really good.

It's been a while since we ate there, but I also thought Harbor Queen's ribs were good and their baked beans were KILLER!

The ribs are going to be more expensive than a street BBQ take out as the OP is inquiring about.

We had Fat Tony's ribs when we were staying at The Summit. They were pretty good.

We love Rosie's ribs, but have never tried Captain D's. Look forward to some from both places in June. Can't wait until then. It's been days since we have seen the sun here and probably won't see it again until next week. The rain is great, but it's getting a little old right now.

Sure miss the Lady C, they had terrific ribs. We would go there two or three times each visit.
