Well I'm one week away from my annual trip to SXM. I think I have everything under control. Staying at RI, I have my car reserved and packed my bag. So, I'm wondering if there's anything on the island that has changed in a year that I should be wary about or be excited about other than it's one of my most enjoyable locations. Is the little store across the street from RI still there? Is the sand in front of RI still there? How's Orient doing - I keep hearing about the sand that washed away from all those shops - I hope they're OK. Thanks.

Spiker..

just got back from RI on Saturday. Beach in front of RI is in good shape. We had some calm days, along with some choppy days too...but so far the beach is holding on. Orient Beach is in fine shape...very little if at all visible damage from the storm. First week we were there had a bunch of seaweed, but it disappeard a few days later. The little store i assume is the grocery store?? and yes..it is there, very jam packed, with just about anything one would ever need. Have fun. Only change at RI is the blue towels are gone.....LOL they are now yellow and white striped!!!!

Great! Thanks EdB! Btw I have last years SIM card for my old 3g phone. Do you think that number may still be good? Or should I opt for a newer SIM card for my old 4S phone? I think it takes a micro SIM. They're both unlocked so I know that the SIM will work.

I don't know what company your SIM card is with, but most SXM companies do not let you keep your number for a year without putting money on it...
