My wife and I have been to SXM numerous times for a week or two usually at end of April......Thinking of renting at a hotel / timeshare for the entire month of February 2016..1 bedroom would be fine...Prefer the Dutch side....can anyone offer any insight as to places, prices etc. during those times? Thanks so much

Check with the sponsors here at TTOL for an agent who can give you insight to Villas for rent. Or go to VRBO.comWe've rented from them (not in SXM) and someone on this website used them for a place in Nettle Bay.

I'll answer to keep the thread alive as its a good question. I agree about checking with a sponsor, you will get good advice. Dutch side is a little general, maybe more info about what you like or value most, budget is always a question. A month at a ts might be difficult to arrange in Feb but? Cupecoy area might have monthly options, ocean or lagoon view, as does Maho area, also try vrbo and the variants thereof. Hotels, not so common, Sonesta's are options for true hotels, but lots of self service hotels such as Mary Boons and others - those who have know please jump in

This FAQ lists timeshare rental sites. The problem with renting a t/s for a whole month, if you're trying to stay in the same unit, is that very few of them are owned for a whole month by the same person. If you don't mind moving half way through, you should be able to find something there. Renting a hotel room for a whole month probably would be fairly expensive, as in dead high season, they may not discount it at all from the daily rate, even though it's a rental for a whole month.
