Does anyone have advise on a good travel rod for trolling. Sadly had one stolen and another meet its maker so looking for replacements. Need to keep the segment lengths to 39'' or so to keep it under lock and key while stored.

Cabellas sells these in several different "weights" (?) - I have two of these and take the heavier one to the BVI. I have had several fish "head that away" with the lure and never turn around. But, that has more to do with my line weight than the rod.

Rent one from Last Stop Sports. Very inexpensive and you don't have to lug it on a plane.

These are good George. I have two. They are a solid setup for trolling. A bit tricky to find, but sometimes amazon has them. Not too expensive either.
Okuma Nomad Xpress Boat Rod.
It's a 3 piece 7/footer.

I don't hual them back and forth. I keep them in a storage bin. The stuff they rent is not really what I need fishing the N drop. I know what reels I want just looking for a good trolling rod solution in the 30 to 50lb class. G

I'll second the Okuma. Very nice, well built piece of equipment. And, they break down into nifty carry on sized case when not in use.

George, Search PS Fishing. look under travel rods. Mine is a 71o North. Had for 7 years, very stout, with a good travel case about 20 inches when broken down. Very good quality rod. Terry

I have a couple of the Okuma travel spinning rods and they are holding up pretty good. I have them paired with a 5000 and 6000 series Penn reels. I found the best prices by going to the Okuma website, finding the model number of the rod I wanted and then just google it. I got mine here last year http://www.uplandgifts.com/okuma-nomad-x...CFVc2aQodUZsA2Q

Hey George, Bought a nice travel trolling rod from American Rodsmith several years ago, but I can not find it on their web site now. Found this site searching for travel rods. Couple of good options. CharkBait

Found a great rod quite a few years ago from 71 North, but can't find a current product now to post a link to. Five pieces and came in a hard-case.

husband bought 2 great ones from Bass Pro shops, very easy to travel with, right in our suitcase, think they were in 3 pieces, not much weight, worked great on Anegada

I have a Daiwa ultra light travel rod it's great for fishing while on a ball or out of the dinghy. 4# test line and even the small fish are a good time. They are small enough to fit easily in a carry on.
