It is still open. I've never understood why it is ever busy.

Ate there in February. Quick service, good drinks, good food. We didn't have reservations, but got the last table for the 7 or so seating.
Next SXM visit -November 2023. Also January 2024.

Owner was arrogant when questioned about adding the 5% TOT and 15% SC to the bill. I'll only go there if others in our group want to. Then I don't get Pineapple Pete either, so what do I know.

Wow, this is one of my favorite places on the island. Excellent Tex-Mex food, great staff, awesome music. They are busy all the time because they consistently deliver great food and a great time. Home made guacamole, a crisp shell Caesar, fajitas of every kind, some shrimp poppers, I love the place.

Thanks for the information. Would it be ok to walk there from the Pelican resort? Not real concerned just asking.

Jimbo's is a fair piece from Pelican (Simpson Bay Resort). Possibly you could walk there, as it is downhill to Welfare Road (I think that's the name?? <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Crazy.gif" alt="" /> and then it is quite a ways from there and there are NO sidewalks. After dark, with no sidewalks, by the time you get to Billy Folly Road, and then have walk up the hill to the Pelican, that's a pretty fair walk. Possibly you could walk there and take a cab back.. Or drive, that would be better.

I think it's an easy walk...once you get to Welfare Rd, it's almost right there in back of Scotia Bank...but it is dark and going uphill on Billy Foley Rd can be a challenge as there are only sidewalks starting from the Atrium up the hill, but still can easily be done

Never will go back there. Too many good alternatives. Small portions and we are not big eaters and way overpriced.

Have to agree with you on both places - especially Jimbo's. We ate there once & it was just ok - but then again, we live in the middle of Tex-Mex country.
Gotta Caribbean soul I can barely control and some Texas hidden here in my heart...(J.B.)

We love Jimbo's. We usually eat there twice during our three week stay. I think the ribs are some of the best on the island, reasonably priced, & a huge portion. Everything I have eaten there was a good sized portion. Some items are priced a little higher than others. The walk from Simpson Bay Resort is easy. Carol, you don't need to walk down the road. You enter the plaza where Jimbo's is located right at the bottom of the hill & walk through the plaza. It is a little dark as someone else mentioned. On the way up the hill we cut through the Villa's parking lot & come out by The Stone. Go up the stairs in the Marina building & you come out by The Peli Deli, avoiding the steepest part of the hill. Try the 40 oz. fish bowl margarita & you won't even remember the walk. Enjoy!!
