Wife and I heading back to St.Martin in July or August. Both turning 50 this year so we thought lets go back to our favorite island. We usually go to CO beaches during the day, and have stayed at La Bella Creol(dating way back) and hotel beach plaza last time on a budget. Looking for a romantic Villa or hotel on the french side. No right or wrong opinion. Thanks in advance, Eric

Since you enjoy CO beaches, <a href="www.clubfantastico.net" target="_blank">Club Fantastico</a>.

Chloe who runs the place is on this forum, I believe.

We have looked at Grand Case beach club, and the location is perfect with good reviews. Was just wondering about Villas and the drive time to Casinos and night life on the Dutch side. Was looking into Cupecoy Currently, seems a little closer drive time at night for us.

Durathor, I 2nd your suggestion of Club Fantistico. Beautiful rooms, pool, view. It's C/O and Chloe & Thierry are the perfect hosts.

So I have your wish list as CO beach during the day, stay on Fench side, Dutch side night life and near a casino and easy-ish driving at night.

Club Fan is a good choice for some of your options as would a rental in Orient

Cupecoy offers a CO beach, albeit no guarantee of a beach at all some days, near casino and night life. To stay on the Fr side and keep Cupecoy in the loop you would need to rent in Terre Basse, there are 1 bdrm rental thru sites such as VRBO

Or consider staying in Cupecoy area, lots of rentals, gives you a CO option if there is beach, casino, night life and you can drive to Orient during the daytime for a better CO option and if you want some dinners in Grand Case, then consider a cab.

Or if you want a dependable CO beach option then stay in Orient area and consider a taxi for your night excursions?

Going to be hard to get all on the wish list exactly, but still doable

Just to clarify, Cupecoy is on the Dutch side; your original question mentioned a villa on the French side? Still, if you're looking for close proximity to the nightlife, Dutch side is definitely better. You can always travel to the French side beaches easily during the day, and the beach at Cupecoy is clothing optional. You might want to look into Porto Cupecoy; there's another thread here that has some links to rental information there. It's a beautiful place and conveniently located.

I agree with GAKAYE if you are interested in casinos and night life, the Dutch side would be better. Driving over to the Dutch side at night, and returning to the French side after a few drinks, could be a problem. We usually stay in the Simpson Bay area and then drive over to Club O during the day. You can rent chairs at Club O for the week, for like $120, and that includes a weeks worth or parking in the Club O lot.

Totally agree, easier to travel to the French Side for CO activities during the day, but stay on the Dutch side at night so you are close to "home".

You may want to try a villa in Terres Basses. There are some very nice properties there and the prices aren't too high in the summer. The location is convenient to beaches, casinos and restaurants on both the French and Dutch sides.
