Zaika Marina opened in Simpson Bay directly next door to Cuccini on Welfare Road <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/dine.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/dine.gif" alt="" />and the food is excellent. Nicely appointed and very friendly service. They feature a variety of different menu options from Indian Cuisine, German , and also traditional American favorites as Burgers, Ribs, Wings and steak.Hubertus Oppermann and Mandeep Kumar teamed up to bring Zaika Marina to SXM.
The Daily Herald on Thursday featured Zaika Marina in their Time Out Section and gave them a rave review.
We have eaten their over 4 times in the last 3 weeks and each time was extremely satisfied. The prices of meals are very reasonable and tipping is left to the patron , not like many other restaurants as of late. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/dine.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/toast.gif" alt="" />

Interesting, although I would think the German market would be touch to crack with Bavaria in the area.
Is it next door to "Cugini" or is "Cuccini" another new place?

This winter ended up talking with the owner of the Realto [sp] pizza place in Maho while waiting for a take out pizza. He mentioned this project was underway, guess it happened? J&B

thanks for this - I saw the article in the Daily Herald but it only said that it shared the location with another restaurant and did not tell the location...now I know! and it's walkable for me...

Patti,
If they share the location, do they also share the parking? It seemed to me as I'm trying to remember it, there wasn't much room for a lot of cars, although it was better than most places in that area. But if it's shared parking, what would be the alternative location for patrons parking?
Respectfully,

There is limited shared parking and not a big problem. We have not had any problems in that respect. Also there is parking available just on the street outside their parking lot.

I think Zaika Marina is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, where Cugini's is only open for dinner. We had cocktails at Zaika Marina when they were just opening the place (during regatta time) and will look forward to go back and try the food.
