They now have a FMP at Foxy's Taboo on Jost - pretty good! I anchor in Diamond Cay and dingy over. Bline is fun the next day and of course it's a short walk to the amazing bubbly pool the next day!

Paradise on CGB has Moon party too. We did Trellis 3 years ago with the 12 and 15 yr old kids and liked it a lot. This year we are staying in CGB so will do that party and maybe sneek over to Bombas to check it off the Bucket List. I won't tell my 18 yr old son about it...mom would be mad if I took him.

Bigcheeze, I think that's "won't tell mom about taking the 18 year old to Bomba's." Bomba shack has better people watching and fewer mosquitoes. I seem to feel better the morning after a Trellis FMP.

We're back on the dock April 4, so our full moon party is going to look more like a night out in Red Hook.

Cheers, RickG

Bomba's Full Moon Parties had been in decline for a while..little live music etc..must say the last couple have picked it back up again..good crowd..good music...and an easy stroll for us down from CRC!

I think we're going to be at the FMP at Foxy's Taboo. Has anyone tried the roasted pig dinner??

Keep your grandsons away from the mushroom tea. Ugh.

I was there for the March party. Lots of people, a live band, and Quito showed up. Fun time.

But oooooh that tea. I can tell you now, the effects of Bomba's tea are NOT urban legend.

Disagree msdj....I've had that nasty tea a couple of times, would have gotten a more halucigenic buzz standing next to the rasta burning spliffs. I think the "tea" is a big scam for the tourists. I've been to many a Grateful Dead show in my youth, I know what's the real deal and what isn't. If they made that stuff strong, you'd have unsuspecting tourists all kinds of jammed up.....my advice would be to stick to beer and rum.

Meh. You didn't have what I had Joe. I've had more than my fair share of 'stuff' over the years (mushrooms included). There was something going on with the tea I drank that night.

I had two cups (a gal in my group had two as well). The first one seemed fairly mundane. The second one was 'chewier' and had more substance. My group left shortly after we drank the second cup. By the time we got back to Soper's Hole, the gal and I definitely had some tell-tale signs of a non-alcoholic buzz (won't go into detail here). The following day, I was a little 'cloudy' and the other gal had much more serious signs of a bad trip --- again, no details here.

You can believe it if you want. I'm not interested. Everyone's tale --- and I imagine every batch of tea --- is different. My point to the poster was he and his family should steer clear of it.

Fair enough Mike, we all have different experiences down there, and your point and advice is spot on....skip the tea.

I LOVED the FMP at Foxy's TABOO on Jost Van Dyke- we had a blast, great people, food, enetrtainment! It was amazing and I have to agree -- Bubbly Pool nearby for same day / next day relaxation, great snorkling areas and B- line bar a dinghy ride away! Easy anchoring or mooring ball- It was fantastic!

I think you can also take a taxi from Great Harbour as well- We had a chance to check out Endeavor II, the Wooden Sloop we have been following the progress on for years now! Sailing on Endeavor is INCREDIBLE!!! This is a must do, for charterer's and anyone else that loves t o sail- We discovered that Endeavor can be chartered, just check with the Jost Van Dyke Preservation Society behind Foxy's for details- Full moon party at Foxy's Taboo, Great Harbour, White Bay- Diamond Cay, Bubbly Pool, B-Line Bar, and so many other things to do at JVD make it one of our favorite places to be- Last time we were there we stayed a week! Sandy Cay and Sandy Spit nearby....heaven!

Looks like the next full moon is coming up this Saturday. Where would I want to be for the best experience? With ten year old daughter and my 70 year old parents, so it has to be kid-friendly smile

Fast enough to get there, slow enough to see.
