Ok, I've checked out every site out there and everyone has a favorite. I'm guessing wind has a lot to do with the conditions but I was hoping to find the flattest beach out there. Orient is a fav but the video I watched it was a little rough...

The most consistently calm beach is Le Galion right next to Orient.

I would agree that is probably correct, as far as the most consistent. That said, Orient CAN be very calm, Mullet CAN be very calm, Simpson Bay CAN be very calm. It all depends on the weather and waves.

Suggest the beach at Ans Marcel. It's a very protected cove and every time we've ever been there it's been literally like a bathtub, but, depth-wise, with totally swimmable waters unlike some of the other calmer beaches. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

I have always had very calm water at Pinel when other beaches were rough and windy. Great place to go.

I suggest Galion, or Friar's. Both are very calm.
Paradise is an island in the Caribbean!

Mullet was anything but flat 2 weeks ago. Pretty calm and LOTS of beach but a big drop-off to get to the water.

I second Anse Marcel. And Friar's has always been calm when I've been there, plus it has a fabulous beach bar, Friar's Bay Beach Café.

Oh, actually I was equating 'calm' and 'flat' as the same thing, but especially with regard to Mullet, there is often a big drop off, yes..

Orient Beach had been pretty windy the past 2 weeks and there was a good wave and under current but it was still better than walking on ice 😁. We just got home last night and it was still a fabulous vacation in Paradise!

Or, if you don't mind the cost and ferry ride, Pinel is almost always very calm beach with shallow waters. I have a friend with MD and that was the only beach where he could enter the water during a recent visit.

Another vote for Le Galion. It is very shallow for a very long ways out. When it is too windy on Orient we escape to Le Galion.

The ONLY beach that will be calm and flat NO MATTER WHAT, YEAR ROUND, 365/365, is the Galion!!!.. protected by a reef barier in a bay protected frm trade winds.. all of the others, Mullet, Anse Marcel, Friars, Happy, Kim Sha, Gd case, Pinel, etc, etc.. are "occasionally" calm, it is all depends on weather and sea condition for those, as well as time of the year... <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />
