We just booked our 1st trip to SXM. My awesome wife was able to get a timeshare exchange through Interval for a 2 bedroom/2 bath unit at the Royal Palm in June! We are excited to visit the island, having heard so many great things. We'll rent a car to ensure that we are able to explore a little. We've received some great advice over the last few weeks. If there are some "must do things" or "must see" places or any "don't miss" restaurants" please feel free to pass them along! Our kids, 11 and 15, will be very happy as well; We are all ready for some serious R+R! Thank you.

Totowa, huh? I grew up in Washington Twp (Bergen County), my wife grew up in Clifton! We moved to FL 20 years ago after getting married. Looking forward to a great trip....we go to Aruba every year and wanted to try something a little different without too much of a change!

I would take the kids to Cheri`s in mayo for dinner. they do a hysterical show. Also to sunset beach to watch the planes come in. I took my teens to both and they loved it.

I believe you mean "MAHO" and not mayo. CHeri's is ok if you have never done it and the kids may enjoy it but the show is getting rather "worn". Closed on Tuesday.

I never thought that show at Cherie's was funny, but I guess a lot of people do.

Bingo!!

My favorite dinner night at Le Moulon Fou is also Tuesday for the exact same reason. It's so nice to be able to eat outside under the stars without Cheri's music playing in the background. Nothing bad about Cheri's show but I don't think it's changed since they made the initial presentation however many years ago.

That said, I personally think Cheri's still makes one of the very best guava coladas to be had on St. Maarten. MmmmmmmMmmmmmmmm!!

Are the colada's as good as the Guavaberry coladas at the Guavaberry Emporium in Phillipsburg? They are hard to beat.
