My wife and I are taking a tour with Amigo Tours tat goes to Orient Beach and Maho Beach. When at Orient Beach we want to go to the clothing optional area (yes we intend to be nude). My question is does anyone know where the drop off for this tour is and how far from the C/O part of the beach this is. Just want to know so to plan for the walk and directions. Also, any other info re chairs, bars etc. Will be helpful.

Can't answer for Amigo Tours, but most tours, taxis, etc. drop their passengers off at Pedro's. When facing the water, walk to the right and when you step into the sand (10 feet or so), you are on the Nude beach, and Club O property starts about 100 yards further. Look for the "Perch Bar" (first structure you come to), and if there is a line get in it for Happy Hour.
Your tour operator will probably meet you where they dropped you off.

I'm assuming your on a cruise?? I would think it would be pretty hard to do both Maho and Club Orient as they are on opposite sides of the island. Maybe skip the tour and just have a taxi take you to one of the stops??

I'm not sure anyone here will be able to give you that answer, as to where they drop off, as most everyone here is land based and don't take tours. Do you have any food or drink included in your tour? If so, I seriously doubt they will drop you off at Pedro's. Could be fairly far down the beach. As far as how to get to the clothing optional area, wherever they drop you off, face the ocean and turn right! When you get to Pedro's, you are almost to Club O. When you see the yellow umbrellas, you're there! As far as chairs, if you're going to Club O beach, get chairs there and visit the best bartender on the beach, Willie at the Perch! There are bathrooms there and they serve burgers, etc. none of which require wearing a bathing suit to consume!

Is it a private tour? If so, they will drop you off wherever you want to .

Just looked at Amigo Tours website and you only have 2 hours at each beach. Not really enough time time rent chairs at Club O. I spent well over two hours just talking to the people that were staying there by just walking from one end of the property to the other and back. As someone else recommended, if on a cruise, get a Taxi and go to Club O or if you'd rather, go to Maho, not sure you have enough time to do both.

Thanks for the info and keep it coming. I figured the time frame would be tight, but first time to St. Martin and my wife and I really wanted to experience Orient, but wanted to see the airplanes at Maho as well. Hopefully we will be able to come back and spend a week in St. Martin.

There is a webcam at both locations. Give them a look and see which atmosphere you would rather be in if you have to pick one. Look at a similar day and time that you are planning.

We were at LaPlaya today and some tour group dropped off a group at about 10 AM and picked them up at about noon. I know this group was going to another beach but I don't know which one.

From LaPlaya its a good 15 minute walk down to Orient Beach club. And that's moving right along.

We like LaPlaya, but, as others have suggested, if you want to visit OBCC, you really might be better off getting a cab to take you to Pedro's visit OBCC for a while and then have it come back and take you to Mahoney.

Our first time in SXM from a cruise ship, we rented an ATV and spent the day driving around the island. Orient and Maho were two (out of many) places we fell in love with that day and we decided to come back for a 10 day vacation. The rest is history smile I think you would have plenty of time to see both, but I'm sure once you are getting that "all over tan" and are making new friends with your neighbors, you may not want to leave at all! Either way, have fun!

Thanks for all the info. Wife and I found our way and had a great, but not enough time on the Orient nude area. Maho with the planes was awesome too. Will be returning, but not on a cruise. Just wondering about what people think about these excursion buses that stop by to show the nude beach to their passengers. I thought that tacky. My particular excursion did not stop there so we had about a 10 min. walk, but it was well worth it.

It's tacky when their passengers just want to gawk and try to take pictures. But, there are also those who are naturally curious, and after observing how much the people are relaxing & and enjoying themselves, decide to return and give it a try. I enjoy meeting and talking with those visitors. It's a public beach.

I'm going where the weather suits my clothes.
