While we were in SXM this year the surf at Maho Bay was wild more often than not. Here are a few shots I got one evening.

Shifting sand, hardly any room for beach loungers.

A neighbor's son-25ish, was playing in the waves in LI when one smashed him to the bottom of the ocean. He is now a quadriplegic. Very sad. Waves have always scared me but even more now....

Holy Waves Batman!! Those are awesome.

Makes me wonder what Mullet has looked like this past week?

Yes, hubby now respects the waves of Anguilla. He was smashed on Meads Bay a couple years ago. Had to have surgery on his shoulder when we got home. It picked him up and pile drove him upside down into the sand.

I agree absolutely. I can truly enjoy a crazy wave day on Mullet, but from the comfort of my chaise with a drink in one hand and my book in the other.

There was one day several years ago when we drove all over the island trying to find quiet surf. Mullet, all the French side beaches, Friar's, Orient - every one was insanely wild and crazy. Finally ended up at Gallion!!
