I've never had great ribs on Orient, but nonetheless I try again every few years. (Actually, we had pretty good ribs at BooBoo Jam, just before it burned down :-(. )

Any suggestions? (Not Pedro's or the Perch)

I don't know why you ask the best ribs on orient..but exclude Pedro's. If you want the best...they are at Pedro's. No one else comes close on Orient. The best on the island, in my opinion, is at Rosie's on Mullet!

My feeling is that the OP didn't care for Pedro's ribs, thus their question. I do agree with you though, Pedro's on Orient, but better yet, Rosie's!!!

Yes Carol, we no longer care for Pedro's ribs.

Years and years ago, we thought they were great, but not recently. (Although, to be honest, we haven't' tried them in 4 or 5 years.)

Rosie's may be great, but sand gravity pretty much tethers us to the Orient beach area. We sit on the beach drinking Carib's or rum punches bemoaning the fact that we can't seem to move very far. :-)

The prices at Pedro's seem to have gone through the roof the past few years, and that affects one's view of their food too, I suppose. Years ago we used to be able to get chicken and ribs and fries, all for under $10!! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" /> Times change!

Caprtan D's here in Simpson Bay ( next to RP) has rack of ribs for $9, chicken for $4 and the combo for $12
And Heineken for a $1

I had Pedro's ribs once and after eating two I threw the rest out. I did not care for them at all. Maybe it was an "off" day? The best ribs we've ever had were Ms B's on Dawn followed by Dinghy Dock and the Lido.

Had them other places on the island and while they were good they weren't all that memorable. Different strokes!

Fabila, I tend to agree. Some OK ribs, but not memorable.

Years ago, before the Westin was built, we had terrific ribs at a beach bar on Dawn, but then the Westin forced them out.

We also once drove down to the Dinghy Dock just to try their ribs. Wouldn't you know, that day they were out of ribs.

And then of course, the new owners at BooBoo Jam had good ribs, and it burned down a few months later.

Clearly the universe is sending me a message, but every few years I try again anyhow.

RP is Royal Palm (which isn't anywhere near Orient). Wendell, unfortunately for him, is headed back to cold reality today..
