I have a cruise booked that is returning to San Juan on April 4 arriving in port at 6 am. I do not know what time I can disembark, but here is my question and dilemma. My flight leaves SJU at 540pm so I plan to get to airport by 330pm(is that enough time given what I have read about this airport)? My wife and I want to do something in San Juan, even if it has to be simple, so as not to spend all day at the airport. Does anyone have suggestions? Is there anything we can do safely with our luggage without having to lug it with us the whole time? Thanks for any help.

usually the cruise will offer tours and they will handle your luggage and getting you to the airport. you should do the rain forest if they offer it. very nice and helps pass the time. the other option we have done is Old San Juan, also a nice tour but they get you to the airport by noonish. you could also look into an independant tour operator that may offer you the same. check things to do San Juan on trip advisor or cruise critic

Hubby and I took the Rain Forest tour after a cruise before flying out. We enjoyed it very much and the baggage process was really great. Bags were taken from the room to a location for our tour group. We were given special baggage tags. We verified that our bags were there and bags were put them on a transfer to airport and we got on an bus and went off to the rain forest. We were dropped at airport where staff personnel had guarded our bags. Showed them our baggage number and we were off to security. We did not have to sit at the airport too long.

The rain forest was very interesting and beautiful flowers. Well worth the money and we did not have to sit at the airport all day.
