We will be visiting Marigot one day during our stay. Any ideas on your favorite eats, shopping, sightseeing, and best day to visit would be appreciated...

Tropicana in the Marina is a great place for lunch or dinner, expensive but well worth it.

Thursday night in the Simpson Bay side marina they have live music playing and the stores around it which they have greatly improved are open late. Plus plenty of security.

We like the Spinnaker in the Marina for lunch. Very good food and reasonable prices.

Food -wise in Marigot, our favorites are Sarafini's for breakfast. It's across from the Market area. Lunch is at La Croisanterie(sp?) on Marina. Dinner would be Cafe dmost next to West Indian building.

We enjoyed our shopping/walk through the open market in the center of town, very colorful. I'm working on part 3 of my report and it will have photo's of the market. There is an upscale Mall, but nothing special other than NICE public restrooms!

The bayside marina area is great for shopping along the water looking at boats, there was a local artist painting/selling her colorful pieces there.

As mentioned Sarafina is an incredible bakery, they have great fresh sandwiches for lunch. Rosemary's has spicy creole items if you like that, we snacked on her wings!

Sorry, somehow my post got messed up. For dinner in Marigot we like Cafe de Paris in Marina or O Plongeoir which is across from harbor.

This is a source of confusion for many here, but there is more than one Marina in Marigot.

There is Marina Royale on the Lagoon side of Marigot (which many people never find) where Cafe de Paris, Tropicana, etc. are located.

Then there is Marina Fort Louis on the Harbor side, where O Plongeoir is across from. Most people have never actually been in what they call the bay side marina, for it is gated, with security.

We had lunch at Le Bistro Nu, this past January. It appears to have recently changed hands, and the dining room has been renovated. The A/C worked well, as it was much too warm to dine al fresco. The food was good, and reasonably priced, as well.
