Went by today and there was alot of construction work going on outside of the building. Looked like getting in for the restaurants and the casino wouldbe difficult.

And it is no longer Atlantis, it's called Starz now...

Any table games? Is it worth the trip from the Westin? We like Hollywood then red piano.

This was always my favorite casino but when I was there in February the smoke smell really bothered me. I had to leave after 15 minutes. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Sick.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Sick.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Sick.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Sick.gif" alt="" />

Are you ex-smokers or smokers? We are non-smokers, and the smell of stale cigarette smoke was very strong when we were there in October, and the Casino wasn't crowded at all.

All of which just goes to show you we can all experience the same things and see them very differently.

Once upon a time, a long time ago, before my children convinced me of the error of my ways, I was a smoker. But even then, I wouldn't go to Atlantis much because the smoke bothered me, and to this day, my major complaint with the Atlantis (or Starz complex as it is called today, I believe?) is the smoke there still bothers me.

For convenience, it's the closest to where we stay but the smoke and lack of good ventilation in their casino usually causes us to choose other venues if we're in the casino mood. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

While we were there in October, there were several "walls " of plastic hanging in attempt to keep the dust from the renovations (construction) getting everywhere.
Perhaps that contributed to the lack of ventilation and the smell of stale cigarettes. The Casino was not crowded, but the smell was pretty strong. Of course we didn't win either, but we went there for the entertainment, and knew we probably would not be winning enough to pay for our next trip to SXM.

Wow, that sounds very uncomfortable. I think I would have walked in and walked back out..
