White bay, no balls after 11 CGB, filled by 3 Geat harbor, by 2...seriously? Norman full by 330 3 med moors at sidneys.
Get your anchor skills up. Everyone is staying multiple nights at balls.
LOTS of europeans! French, belguim, and italians. Do you like speedos?

Yeap, we wanted to try all the months, so we knew when to avoid.
Fine bunch of people on the Costa cuise ship. Turned CGB INTO A NUDE BEACH.

It would be nice if people read up on local customs before they visited the islands. This is the local's home, I doubt the locals appreciated bare [censored] neked people flaunting their privates on the beach where kids play. Not good form unless you know that the beach is clothing optional

Had some interesting conversations with some locals and local business owners on various islands during our last stay. They are getting fed up with the behavior of not only the cruise folks but with the "new breed" of some charter people they are encountering. Seems the clientele has changed for the worst the last 5 years or so. And expect to find a lot more locked restrooms at various establishments.

One of the first things we did when planning our first sail was to learn about the islands and its people. We do everything we can to be respectful, appreciative and polite. My Admiral and I have both lived/ worked in high tourism areas and know what its like to experience "ugly" tourists.

The woman next to me changed out of her bathing suit right at the table, out in the open. She was old enough to know better.**** My family is European and I lived and went to school there. I am accustomed to their beach attire and attitudes about nudity. However, I was beyond shocked to see full female external genitalia at lunch, in a restaurant, three feet from my face. Thankfully, my son's back was to her so he didn't see it. ***She was from the same cruise ship line mentioned by another poster. For good or bad, they were easy to identify by the numbered stickers on their shirts and bathing suits.

Leverick Bay has never seen so many locals inc Police enjoying the show.

We had an eye burning experience a few years back with our only neighbor while at anchor. Woke up in the morning to see our neighbors on a 50ish mono in full "Porky Pig" mode. The winds were somewhat flat and we had both swung to within about 100 ft of each other. Let's just say we had breakfast while underway!

We were walking on Orient Beach and my wife was several yards in front of me, she quickly turned towards me and put her arms in an X over her head (international sign of distress ) she said "you'll want to turn around!" I looked over her shoulder and saw a gentleman pointing out at the horizon....unfortunately his hands were on his hips Come on man!

It is extremely disquieting to the locals. Having lunch at Stanley's in CGB once there was a 60+ woman sunbathing topless right in front. Two policemen standing on the steps. Senior policeman prodding the younger one to go tell her to cover up but the young one was having no part of it. I finally went out and called her attention to the two cops and suggested she cover up. Never seen such relieved policemen.

I always find these conversations comical. People so easily offended by the human body or a style of bathing suit. Maybe we need to go back to victorian style suits that cover all exposed skin between the neck and feet.
I can understand locals resenting outsiders bringing their morals in and creating change. The natives in the south pacific probably resented the ministers who came to their islands and told them to cover up. Heck, they probably ate a few.
If a speedo gets you that worked up, maybe the problem isn't the speedo, but prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness as Mark Twain so aptly put...thanks Glenn that is a great tagline.
I'm not offended by the fat guy in the speedo, the six pack ab guy in the shorts to his calfs, the hot lady in the thong, or the fat lady in the one piece with ruffly skirt. I'm not even offended by the fat guy in the one piece with the ruffly skirt. We are all just people...no one better than the rest.

Absolutely, to each their own...within reason. Bodies and bathing suits or no bathing suits for that matter don't matter to me in a setting that is appropriate. You must admit the example of the woman at the Top of the Baths restaurant was unacceptable, children or no children. Would you change out of your suit in a restaurant? The gentleman whose little blue pill hadn't worn off proudly exposing it to my wife is unacceptable no? I laughed, but I'll admit that I'm judging him because I think he's a mental case the way he stood there looking at her. Societies have cultural norms, good or bad to you or me they are what they are. Maybe I'll try to change my clothes at the table of my favorite neighborhood restaurant here in Virginia, wonder how that will go over

"LOTS of europeans! French, belguim, and italians. Do you like speedos?"
Ok, let's first get the spelling right, shall we? Belgians ...
Secondly, don't generalize too quickly about Europeans and Speedos. Being European myself, I have never owned a Speedo in my life, and neither have my family and friends as far as I know.
It's like saying that all American tourist wear Hawaiian floral shirts and are overweight ... am not referring to your avatar of course

I agree the woman at the top of the Baths was inappropriate and most likely illegal. Orient Beach is a well known clothing optional beach, and while an erect [censored] is outside of normality I wouldn't have given it a second thought. My wife would have chuckled....we've been to Orient Beach many times.
Not aware of any nude restaurants in VA, so let us know how it goes.

Over the years we've ran into several nude folks..as opposed to nekkid..that's the nude folks having fun. Years ago on a cruise out of San Juan, one of the stops was Martinique, we took a trip to some beach near a fancy hotel. There we're are least 15 young models, and I mean very attractive..who modeled swimwear and cover ups and would go around the beach showing ummm.."their offerings", changing tops and bottoms right in front of client. They had a large tent set up at one end with a bunch of merchandise. There too the young ladies were showing their wares..and some of the merchandise. My wife was looking at some of their cover ups..so naturally being the amazing husband I am, I went with her, told her to take all the time shopping she pleased and looked at the variety of merchandise being displayed. Other than a couple other incidents I usually looked elsewhere when confronted with au naturale sun worshippers.

Sorry, Prospector, talk all you wish, but naked pictures of anyone gets us afoul of all kinds of filters for 'family' websites, which we can't afford.

Last year while at CGB, the whole crew of the Cat next to us were out on the trampoline dancing naked in the rain. I have been following this thread and just have to chime in about the "morals" of the BVI. FYI there are several "strips clubs" on good ole Tortola that are also brothels. That's right, for the right price you can take one of the pretty ladies upstairs for a ride. I asked a police officer about this one time and he did acknowledge this fact. When I asked if it was legal, he said no, just overlooked. So the next time you feel upset about seeing someone in a skimpy bathing suit or nude in the BVI, and you are worried that they might offend the locals, remember that on an island of less than 30K people, EVERY LOCAL knows about this. And if they are OK with it, I wouldn't worry myself too much about it.
It's not what you've got, it's what you give, it's not the life you choose, it's the life you live.
