We left paradise Tuesday and I'm just recovering! We had our last breakfast at the SBG, while watching enviously as tourists got tossed around in the waves on the beach. Back to the condo for last minute packing, a nice refreshing shower and a change into "light" winter clothes for the trip home. Returned the car rental at 1.30 p.m., then headed to the airport for a 4 hour wait until our flight departed. Got through the preliminaries in record time, then it was upstairs to eat and gawk at the impressive duty free area they now have. Hubby suggested we try a burger at Johney Burger; he forgot that ground beef should be well cooked, and decided to order mine medium rare because that's how I like my steak. So, I nibbled around edges and gave up on the middle; the onion rings were great though. The flight was uneventful; deplaned quickly in Toronto and wasted an hour clearing customs, getting our bags back on the conveyor belt for our connecting flight and re-doing the screening bit. So that left another 2 hours to kill before we headed out on the last plane of the night. We decided on a late night snack, and then found our way to our gate where we helped out a poor, lost soul travelling alone. Good deed done for the day we sat back waiting to board. Hubby thought the plane would be half-empty - wrong, every man and his dog was on it. Finally my little head hit the pillow at 3 a.m. in the morning <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/snore.gif" alt="" /> Yesterday was a blur, today I'm feeling a bit more human. Looking forward to next year; hubby has decreed we aren't flying Air Canada again, we're going back to WestJet.

Good and informative post. What you imparted, thought, is a Freudian reflection of the sweet/sorrow regret of leaving one of the most wonderful places on earth. At least to us of the ardent supporters and those who relish that future date of arrival and fear the inevitable time of departure.
Alas, there is still hope. Next year comes.
Suspect you had the best time of your life, or hope it was - at least almost.
