We are going to try something new this year and stay at Maho - unbelievable deal booked last year!! Can we walk to Simpson Bay? How long can we walk along the beach? I'm talking along Mary's Boon stretch - can we get there from here?

Not recommended. No real sidewalk. Just we'll worn narrow roadside path along very busy stretch of road. Take $1.00 taxi/bus from Maho to end of curve after airport runway. Safer and quicker

You could walk the other way past the Sunset beach bar.

Yes, you can get there. You have to walk past SB&G to the end of White Sands Rd cut between Beachside Villas and the old White Sands hotel then about 1/4 mile farther to MB.

The taxi suggestion is a good idea, however there is another way, but its a bit of a hike. We took the La Plage morning walking tour [Tuesday morning?] and went from L Plage to Simpson Bay and back You walk past Sunset Beach bar, up through Beacon Hill til you come to the villa's overlooking towards P'burg. There are steps down to Simpson Bay just before, you come down near where the Tahoma was. Come to think of it, we then walked back through Beacon Hill, past the AAA building back to Sunset Bar. I bet if you checked at the La Plage activity desk you could find out about the morning walk - Maho might even have the equivalent - it would "show you the way"! J&B

You can do it during the DAY, certainly, following White Sands Road and then head out to the beach when you get to the gate at Beachside Villas. It's a pretty fair walk along the road there, but it's certainly doable during the day. Once you get to Beachside, there is an open space of beach, about 1/4 mile long, and the first thing there is Karakter, which Mary's Boon is right next to.

The reason to go that way is to see the view from the top of that hill, which is a nice view of the airport and Beachside Villas. But as Wendell said, you don't have to go up that hill at all, just stay on White Sands Road till BSV.

That is our normal walk but we do it in reverse and leave SBR, walk over the bridge, take 1st road on left and use any access point to get to the beach...then up the stairs, stay to the right and you will soon be along the airport runway and then Sunset Beach. Obviously you will do it in reverse and eliminate the SBR part.
It is a nice long walk with rewards at Karacter and SSB....no issues with traffic and again, obviously, a daylight walk.
The roads (in Beacon Hill) are whatever you chose..not easy to get lost. Just get to where you can see the beach and the stairs will appear next to some condos

This is a Google map . I believe the name of the place with the overlook is Fan Coral Road.
