We have successfully ordered from CC in the past, but this time we've had problems. I submitted a detailed email with a large order ($500). I got a reply to send a credit card authorization, but no invoice, so I couldn't verify the order or cost. I sent several emails asking for the information. I called as well but had a lot of difficulty communicating in English with the woman on the phone. I sent the cc authorization, and again asked for a detailed invoice. Still no answer from them. Our charter starts this Friday, and I'm going to cancel the order tomorrow and order with Tico's if I don't hear something. It's frustrating, because CC has an excellent wine inventory. Anybody else have this problem? Or am I doing something wrong?

No problems here but I've done the same thing for our trip next month. Emailed my order and the CC authorization form. On my email I specified amounts with a dollar total based on prices from their website. Anxious to hear how your experience works out. Please report back!

Hmm... if this is a recurring problem
Should find someone, that will do the "Tortola Tango" as we call the tour of all the shops to assemble everything needed....
Then pay a % above actual receipts for the effort and delivery.....
There's a concept for a bored resident.....

We have never had a problem with Caribbean Cellars.

I recognize your position, but I'd try calling one more time to try to straighten things out. Maybe too ask for someone else if you're not satisfied.

Good luck and let us know how it works out.

We've used them for every one of our charters and have never had any problems with our orders - only once when they did not have a magnum of champagne we wanted - not a big deal. That said, we've always had a few email/communication challenges - they're not going to email you an invoice but they'll bring it with your order. I wouldn't cancel your order over that but that's just me.

Thanks, that's reassuring. I just don't want to get there and have no booze! I also don't want to "cancel", order from Tico's, and receive 2 orders. I think I'll just chill and see what happens.

I used them for the first time a couple weeks ago (1/30). I emailed them back the requested form for payment and also called the with the credit card security number. Fast forward to the morning we're supposed to get the delivery. Everything is done but no CC delivery. I had the charter office give them a buzz to ask when they were coming...they couldn't find the order, asked when it was made etc. Then they suddenly said it was already on the way. Then they asked to speak to me, they wanted to tell me about a couple items they didn't have and what could they send instead. Obviously it wasn't on it's way yet since they wanted to sub items. While I had them on the phone I wanted to reconfirm the cases of water which I had talked to them about previously (as it wasn't on their on-line automated form)...they said yes they were sending 3 cases. About an hour later the guy showed up...had everything except the water. One of my crew rode back with the guy to get the water.

Not a pleasant first experience with them. Held up our departure...island time I guess.

Here's another thing we've learned and have not done since our very first charter -- there is no need to get provisioning orders, booze orders, etc into these places weeks ahead of time. You are much better off placing your orders with them 1 week out - 2 weeks at most - it's a whole different atmosphere - and yes, island time is part of that.

I'll still stay with them for the savings -- over $10 less per case for beer than Riteway on most brands....

Having said that....I'll be calling them the day before we head down to make sure it's all in order

Just put a reminder in my phone to call a few days before we arrive just to confirm too. the only reason I sent in the order early was it was one more thing to cross off the to do list.
