This is our first time on SXM during the regatta; tip and recs please! I read Cool and the gang is performing <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" /> where should I be? Heineken Regatta is the official website.

You want to avoid bridge openings in Simpson Bay if possible as they will be long and traffic will get seriously backed up the weekend of Regatta. Plan accordingly.

If you come to the parties on Kim Sha beach, be careful where you park as it is limited and cars will be towed.

The final party with Kool & the Gang will be Sunday night and it usually starts a hour or two late for the headliner.

If you can get on a spectator boat (which might be tough now) for one segment of the race, I would recommend that.

All of the parties are on Kim Sha beach includiing the headliner? And how do I go about requesting to get on a spectator boat? Which ones are they?

Thursday night the party is at Port De Plaisance, Friday is the Boardwalk in town and Saturday and Sunday is on Kim Sha. Click on the link, then parties then schedule and you should see Parties.

Aqua Mania handles a lot of the spectator boats but there are others also. Sadly, most are probably full at this point. There was a post on here that I put up back in January but the boat filled within a week or so.

YIKES just realized that I am a week off! we leave 3/7 ;-/
this years trip is 2/25-3/7 due to huge project at work!
I was excited to participate this year.
