Last year after we landed we took a taxi to Red Hook for the ferry to St John. We did not have time to check out all of Red Hook for a grocery store. We noticed one was closed. Is there another close to the ferry dock in Red Hook?

The one that was closed last year (Marina Market) is now open as Moes's Fresh Market. There is a larger store on the way to Red Hook called Food Center.

Moes is just across the street from ferry terminal, beware, they do not accept American Express and I just noticed that I'm being hit with a $3 bank fee using my debit card there. This fee just started, I've been shopping there since they opened. Good selections, upstairs is decent wine selection, staff very friendly and helpful.

upstairs? did they rebuild another floor on the market?
BTW, for the merchant, AMEX sucks, double to triple VS/MC rates

Evan: You gotta come visit! Yes, the whole store was redesigned with a mezzanine wine shop overlooking the store. Still has lousy parking, though.
