For those who subscribe to Jeff Berger's Everythingsxm.com membership, do you feel the annual cost is worth it? Unfortunately, one has to subscribe before you can see what discounts are available so I never subscribed.
We used to use the SXM privilege card which gave 10% off at many of our favorite restaurants. Does Jeff's membership also give 10% off at several restaurants or is it mostly just the free drink or appetizer deals?

I'm assuming the lack of replies on this thread indicate most, if not all on TTOL, don't subscribe to everythingsxm.com.
Now that the SXM Privilege card and the Caribbean card have been discontinued, are there any other discount programs on the island for restaurants and/or activities?

I, for one, am embarrassed to use coupons.

The free booklet that most resorts and car rental places have. Also available at the airport baggage claim area.

Businesses offer coupons to increase business, so I would never be embarrassed to use them. In fact, a business owner once told me how pleased she was to see me using the Caribbean Card, because she knew their advertising was successful.

If so, is it worth $59 for the 1 year subscription? If you just want updated SXM info, you can subscribe to their free newsletter.

GaKaye, I don't use coupons in the markets either. I am sure there is money to be saved, just not my thing. As a business owner who occasionally advertises with a coupon, yes, it's an excellent way to track the evil advertising. The BVI Drinking Man's Guide is an excellent example. Yes, the book will pay for itself if you use the coupons. However, you can not tear out pages, so you have to carry the book to every bar and restaurant, no thank you.

I have been a member for years and have used the coupons in the past. The free drink with dinner and 10-15% off do add up if you are in SXM more than one week. It introduces new restaurants to you. Also, there is a free sunset cruise for members. The rental car discounts are also good.

I love coupons. The best is when your at the grocery store and you wait until everything is scanned, then enter your loyalty number and watch the savings pile up like a slot machine. Had my bill go from 113 to just over 50 with that and coupons once.

As of this year, it looks like the free sunset cruise has been replaced with 50% off on the Celine Too sunset cruise (a savings of $20).

So why are the discounts so secret. You can't find out what is offered till you pay and join the membership. Sounds kind of flaky to me. Are they not so good that if it's published people might not bite?

I agree. If they are so great why not tell your potential members what the benefits are.

If it was announced up front then it no longer would be a "secret"

Slightly off topic, but I personally hate loyalty cards, though I use them because it's the only way to get the lower prices. I think places, like supermarkets, should just lower their prices for everyone instead of making you use a stupid loyalty card that tracks everything you do.
As far as 'secret' discounts go, I won't sign up for something unless I know exactly what benefits I'm getting. But that's just me.

And how about the department store coupons that you get in the mail and remembering to bring all of them when I actually go shopping. I digress...back to the topic. Does anyone know if this is in fact currently accurate? On the "everythingsxm" website it says this about Club O [color:"blue"]"Day visitors can park just inside the gate for about $18/day, which gets you two beach chairs and an umbrella"[/color] There are a few restaurants I would go to on the teaser list but the discount at Club O might tip the scale.

I perused the discount list briefly and I didn't see anything about Club O, but I would be very surprised if you could get any discount at Club O, as they don't normally discount anything for anyone. I could be wrong though.

And while you're too nice to say it, Carol, I would really hesitate to pay anyone for a 'secret' membership when so much of the information provided there is already given here freely and gleaned from this board as well as other readily accessible sources, to be included in the other. But that's just my humble opinion...., and as I so often say, to each his own!

That's been my thought too and is the reason why I never subscribed. I inquired last year about the Celine discount and was told they don't disclose discounts to non-members for competitive reasons. That didn't make a lot of sense to me since their competitor at the time, the free SXM Privilege card, disclosed its discounts. Maybe Jeff has agreements with his vendors for some reason to not disclose their "secret". I did hear that everythingsxm has a c/o discount for something (Club O, Tiko Tiko, P&P or something else?). I don't recall where I heard it but it was a couple of years ago and it may not be true now.

Jeff has never had any discount for Club 0 or Tiko (at least as best I know) - he does have a discount offered for Capt Alan, including the P & P (or now the P and Not-P).
