Since Pandora doesn't work outside the U.S., I'm making playlists for our upcoming trip. I've got every Jimmy Buffet song there is, along with a few Bob Marley songs. What are your favorite sailing songs? There will be at least one playlist with songs like the theme from Hawaii 5-0 and the theme to Rocky. Let me have your favorites! Search "PLAYLIST" on here and you'll see a thread that is pretty extensive

check out Tradewinds Radio, not positive of the station number, but if you hit seek on your radio, they have a very strong signal. It's available all over the Caribbean, I believe it is broadcast out of St.Martin

I read on another post that ITunes radio is available in BVI. It works exactly like Pandora. That's my plan plus a playlist

We did the same thing...worked on a playlist then ran across 92.3 FM and never changed the channel or used our playlist. Heading back down in May with a two boat crew! Cant wait!!

92.3 Tradewinds Radio is great. We play it by default a good bit. They play the same music most days and they record the weather report on Friday for the whole weekend. That way if the weather changes for the worse you can still hope to see last week's weather tomorrow while you hear about the parties you missed. Better music than weather reports.
Cheers, RickG

If any of you own Apple stock, you're welcome. I don't even want to see how much I just spent on i-tunes. BUT it's an investment since this won't be our only trip to the BVI's <rationalizing>

HarleyK, I'm curious to know your two boat crew plans as we are headed down in June with two 44 cats. Are y'all doing anything like planning drinks or dinners aboard boats while you are there? Swapping off duties, etc.?

4Life - we have 15 in our group. Very close friends but each boat has their own family/friends. It's a little early on the plan but we'll definitely share dinner/drinks on the boat. No doubt we'll have overnite-dinners at Anegada(Neptunes or Lobster Trap with a day spent at CR eating best cheeseburger and cold ones anywhere on earth! Cooper Island and dinner at the club and I have to meet and have dinner/drinks with Nick at Leverick. Also, we'll probably go clockwise and spend first night at White Beach cooking dinner on the boat. That's a great spot with Monkey Point the next morning. That's about all i have planned so far!

Also, taking notes on the music scene as we'll definitely catch a gig somewhere around the islands.

I have always prepared a separate playlist when coming down and find if you get a good mix of different genres of music it will appeal to everyone. I also try to keep the music relative to the trip and vibe. Here are a few less well known tunes people seem to enjoy. Anegada - Rick Glaze Aurora Borealis - John H Clarke Bon Jur - The Mussington Brothers Can You Feel It - Inner Visions Caribbean - Barefoot Man French Shore - Great Big Sea Fun In The Sun - Steve Oliver Island Life - Ken Navarro The Last Saskatchewan Pirate - Arrogant Worms Just Another Dream - Stick Figure Moondance - Liz Longley Nickel Beer - Rick Glaze Pump Me Up - Edwin Yearwood & Krosfyah Swaying Palms - Govi Virgin Gorda - Warren Hill Sloop John B - Relient K St. John Shuffle - Jimmy Junkins & the Soulcats Sunny & 75 - Joe Nichols Closer to Home/I'm your Cptn - Mark Farner Stronger Beer - Tim Hicks I Like to Move It - Reel 2 Real Change the Tides - The Northwest Sons Wonderful World - Third World Samba Pa Ti - Ottmar Liebert Don't Want to be a Conch - Barefoot Man Heave Away - The Fables The Crawl - Spirit of the West Captain Kid - Great Big Sea Sinnerman - Nina Simone & Felix da Housecat Home for a Rest - Spirit of the West X-Rated - Dennis de Mennis Wotless - KES the Band 1865 (96 in the shade) - Third World
These are just a few, and some fun Canadian content in there. Of course you mix lots of JB, Kenny C, Zac Brown and classics from CS&N, Van Morrison, Bob Marley etc.

I can think of a couple songs that would be MUST haves,
Harry Nilsson-Everybody's Talkin' Christopher Cross-Sailing And then there's Sail On by the Commodores, it has nothing to do with sailing, but its a great song nonetheless. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />
Well, I guess I just gave my age away. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" />
