looking for options in the Simpson Bay area for two newbies who are currently looking at Sea star villa #24 in Oyster Pond- I think this is a bit far from nightlife and looking for options closer- 2 people so 1 bed is fine suggestions- I was thinking beachside villas or lavista if there is availablilty

Your options are going to be limited in SB area because of Regatta. What kind of price range are you looking for?

You bring this up when the most polluted area on the island is Simpson Bay. Raw sewage flows into the lagoon from every establishment and condo complex on the beach and around the entire lagoon.

Simpson Bay beach is not on the lagoon though... Other than beaches close to the bridge and say the area in front of Royal Palm, it should be much cleaner, say, down where Beachside is.. I personally don't swim around Royal Palm, yes, partially because of all the boats anchored there..

As Wendell says, looking for someplace in Simpson Bay at Regatta?? Tough pickings. I would imagine there is very little available. Many people book stuff for Regatta 6 months or more in advance. Don't care to necessarily book the place myself, but you might check out booking Alegria--used to be Caravanseri, with all it's baggage. There probably is someplace available there, although no idea what the cost is, and the elevators may or may not work. Would definitely be in the heart of the action though.

By the way, as of 5 minutes ago, Alegria was available, regular hotel room, possibly not even with a fridge??--for $178 a night for those dates..
