its been a while since ive been to Dawn beach but two years ago tried to go there and ended up at the westin...where is the public access/parking for dawn beach now?

See, there you go. You found it. There basically IS no public parking for Dawn Beach. If you can get away with parking at the Westin, that's about the best you can do.

If you get there early enough there are spaces either side of Pier Grocery (both sides of the road). Just don't park on Mr. Busby's grass area. Walk through Mr. Busby's and rent any of the chairs there. If you bring your own chairs there is a narrow "pathway" behind the restaurant.

If you want to go to the area in front of the Westin they now have moved their chairs over to allow space for non guests. There is an open area across from the Westin security gate (at the bottom of the hill) where I have seen cars parked.
